For months, the arrival of Apple’s fifth generation iPhone has been speculated, and rumors have filled the blogosphere and World Wide Web relating to that topic. While the iPhone 4 was a very popular handset for Apple, the sales numbers were not what a very demanding Steve Jobs had expected, and the Apple iPhone 4S was designed to improve on some subpar performances of the iPhone 4, as well as debut a brand-new piece of technology that Apple claims will be the wave of the future in the mobile marketplace.

While no retail price has been solidly confirmed, many reputable sources have come forward, and the re-occurrence of three retail prices on three specific models seem to be pretty solid.
A 16 GB model for $199, a 32 GB model for $299 and a 64 GB iPhone 4S at a retail price of $399 seem to be the versions that will be available on October 14 when the iPhone 4S is launched. Sprint, Verizon and AT&T are all rumored to offer the device, and of those retail prices above reflect a two-year activation agreement.
The iPhone 4S will offer the new iOS 5 operating system and a dual core A5 processor. Dual cameras are on board, with an eight megapixel rear facing camera offering 1080P HD resolution at up to 30 frames per second. That rear camera also offers dual LED flash, and image stabilizer and video stabilizer, face detection, autofocus, touch to focus and geo-tagging. The forward facing 0.3 megapixel camera allows for video chat and video calls, and offers VGA quality resolution.
The Apple iPhone 4S offers a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen with multi-touch navigation and support for 16 million colors. The LCD monitor provides 640 x 960 pixel resolution and has light sensor and proximity sensors built into the screen. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity are also offered.
